Adventures in Parodyverse - Timeless
Things were quiet aboard the Parody Master's flagship, 'Inevitable Destiny'. The attacks haven't begun yet. A few Avawarriors noticed a chilly breeze blowing through the hallways of the ship but those Dimensional Dreadnaughts were always a little drafty so they paid it no mind. Only at the end of those bursts of icy wind was a female with crystalline white skin and long silver hair, with eyes that were deep blue as the clearest sea in the galaxy, wearing flowing charcoal robes. She walked right past the Avawarriors patrolling the ship. They would not see her if she didn't desire it. A Parody Cult Priest in black and red robes stopped to stare at her. She turned to look at him. She looked back, and thin pure white wings appeared behind her and unfolded. The Parody Cult Priest sounded a muffled cry and stumbled as he ran. Faite chuckled almost evilly. While they could always sense her, she had arranged things quite a while ago so the Parody Cult knew of her as a demon. There would be curses and wards from the High Priests, but she would ignore them as usual. She made her way to the Bridge. The Parody Master stood there in all his armor and holding his axe. She wondered why he found it necessary to do so, on his own ship, when he should feel safe. Obviously he didn't. That's why she came to speak to him. At the time he was in the middle of interrogating Jury. As predicted, the Parody Master spotted her immediately. He nearly hefted his axe and was about to issue an order to his crew...but then he realized something was wrong. "Good evening," Faite greeted him. It was about then that the Parody Master realized that his axe was gone, as was his bridge crew. He tried to blast Faite out of existence but he was baffled when it didn't work...because she didn't exist. Faite was truly one of the anomalies of the Parodyverse. "Clever," he said plainly. "What do you want, Faite?" "You know me." She nodded in acknowledgment. "Mentor to the disgusting Hatman," the Parody Master noted almost threateningly. "He will be brought into my service. As will you, once I own all of the Parodyverse." "Let's not get ahead of ourselves," she said plainly. "After all, I'm not the one wearing armor in my own home." "Playing games with me will only earn you more agony--" "Save it for someone who cares," Faite snapped. "I'm here to deliver a warning." "A threat? From you?" He laughed out loud at the thought. "Not from me," she replied. A gentle breeze blew through the bridge from nowhere as she spoke. "From yourself. You were something once, before this...this corruption. Something wonderful. It's not too late to change things. You've done the work you were meant to, the Parodyverse will be free. But it cannot survive as a part of you, so you must make a choice." "If it won't become a part of me then I shall destroy it all." "That's not the other choice." Faite frowned and sighed. "It's this arrogance and short-sightedness that will see your defeat. I don't want to see you destroyed. I...want to see you saved." "How can you 'save' me," the Parody Master replied mockingly as he forced his bridge crew and axe to forcibly reappear in spite of Faite's quaint little charms. "When you can't even save yourself?" He quickly took a swipe with his axe, a warrior's speed against the simple tricks of a reality manipulator... ...and he missed, because she wasn't there. A fierce wind whipped through the bridge instead, its blinding velocity only lasting a few seconds but long enough to register its contempt. And the Parody Master heard a faint whisper from everywhere and nowhere at once, "I'm sorry," the whisper said, "What must be, must be." It was then that the door to the Bridge opened and Dancer stepped through. And then all hell broke loose.
